What is Abdominoplasty ?

Also known as a tummy tuck, works o decrease the fat and drooping skin around the stomach and hip region. It is the most common cosmetic surgery for people looking to improve their shape. It is also done in individuals who have a weak abdominal wall and cannot support the body. Abdominoplasty is also advised in cases of post-pregnancy weight gain, traumatic C-sections, and age-related bodily issues. It may be done in conjunction with liposuction as liposuction removes fat and abdominoplasty strengthens or tightens the tummy muscles. The procedure is done only when a patient is deemed suitable for it.

What is Hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, and most likely, the cervix. Depending on the reason for the surgery, a hysterectomy may involve removing surrounding organs and tissues, such as the fallopian tubes and ovaries. The uterus is where a baby grows during pregnancy. It’s lining is the blood you shed during your menstrual period. You lose the ability to get pregnant and you will not get your period after a hysterectomy.

How is it done?

  • Several tests to know the Body Mass Index, waist to hip ratio, fat percentage, and metabolism rate will be performed before the surgery. The surgery is usually contraindicated in people who are extremely thin or have abnormal metabolism.
  • Depending on your body goal, you can choose what level of abdominoplasty you want to go for.
  • A horizontal or elliptical incision will be made on the lower abdomen and the excess fat and skin removed.
  • The abdominal skin will be repositioned properly around the belly button and the incision will be sutured.
  • The incision will be made in such a way that there is minimal scar formation and even if there is any scar formation, it gets mingled with the natural lines on your body.
  • Tubes may be placed along the incision site to drain residual fluid. Diet restrictions and physical movement restrictions should be followed for a few days to ensure proper healing.
