What is it?
It is one of the most common conditions in childhood. Asthma is the condition where your lungs and
airway are inflamed due to the reactions of certain allergens on the lining of these organs. The child will
keep on coughing repeatedly when in contact with an allergen. A wheezing sound may be felt when you
place your hand on their back. The allergen maybe anything ranging from pollen to food. The condition
is usually identified and treatment prescribed in a child’s early years itself. Shortness of breath, chest
tightness, and irritated itchy feelings are some of the symptoms.
