It is the condition where a gap or a cleft is seen in the roof of your mouth (cleft lip) or your lip (cleft palate). The severity may defer and the cleft can be as small as involving only a part of the palate or as big as passing through the whole palate, lip and even nose. The condition can be identified as soon as a child is born.
