What is CT scan ?
Ct scan or Computed Tomography is a diagnostic procedure that provides real-time imaging. It uses a combination of X-ray and computer technology to provide high-resolution images. It generates a ‘slice’ or cut of a three-dimensional image in a two-dimensional pattern. A radiographic beam is emitted from
a tube that passes through the body tissues and hits the detectors. The detectors convert the photon signals from the beam into analyzable images on the connected computer screen. A CT scan is the most helpful to detect internal organ abnormalities, guide biopsies, assess malignancies, trauma injuries and more. With CT scan, differences in the densities as low as 1% can also be recognized.
- Hemodialysis is a treatment to filter wastes and water from your blood, as your kidneys.
- Did when they were healthy. Hemodialysis helps control blood pressure and balance.
- Important minerals, such as potassium, sodium, and calcium, in your blood.
- Hemodialysis can help you feel better and live longer, but it’s not a cure for kidney failure.
- You may be able to do hemodialysis at home. Normally, hemodialysis begins well before your kidneys have shut down to the point of causing life-threatening complications.
