What is Fracture and Trauma Surgery ?

It is the surgical treatment done to treat fractures, injuries, crush or fall wounds, simple, complex, or compound dislocations, fractures where nerves and vessels may be involved, and/or sports injuries. If a fragment is crushed beyond repair, that part will be removed and a graft or a prosthetic replacement will be done.
The tissues and skin are sutured back and the whole area is externally immobilized with the help of casts or bandages.
Regular follow-up and radiography will be taken to ensure proper healing of the fractured fragments and/or the replacements.
