It is a demyelinating disease of the brain and spinal cord. It means that the outer layer of the brain tissues, spinal cord and nerves slowly disintegrates leading to loss of coordination between the brain and the body. The condition occurs due to hosts/patients having more immune cells than is normal. It is a relapsing- recurring disease where patients see bouts of symptoms at one time and then are completely normal the other time. The complications of this disease include muscle function loss, paralysis, urinary system defects, seizures and more.
