What is it?
It is a brain disorder which results in loss of balance coordination, difficulty in walking, stiffness and shaking limbs. It usually occurs in older patients and is caused by loss of nerve cells in the brain. When the brain cells get damaged, the important hormone dopamine secretion becomes reduced. It is a progressive disease and patients may sometimes even develop cognitive problems like memory loss and behavioral changes. It can also be hereditary and can occur due to genetic mutations. Lifestyle changes like diet and nutrition can also affect its severity.
